27 Jul 2020 | Camilla Suarez

Cynthia Thomalla from Philippines was crowned Miss Eco International 2018 on 27th April 2018 in Cairo, Egypt. Cynthia went onto create a history as she was the first Filipina beauty to win the title of Miss Eco International who bared her advocacy for sustainable tourism and responsible traveling at the competition. She is also a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and works as an actress and a model currently.

The 25-year-old model who made her marking in the beauty pageant world when she was crowned Miss Eco International 2018 wants to use her voice to promote eco-tourism while advancing social and environmental causes. Remembering about her stint at the pageantry, Cynthia stated, “It was a humbling and memorable experience for me which is why I was thinking of joining another pageant to bring the advocacies I supported to a bigger stage.” She had recently shared that beauty pageants have given her the confidence and strength to stand up for herself in the society and work towards her dream and now she has desired to participate in other beauty pageants as well.

Cynthia had plans to participate in Miss World Philippines 2020 but due to the covid19 situation she must put that plans a rest but is prepping herself for the future pageants and is hopeful that she will be able to represent the Philippines at international stage once again. “Miss World is my mother pageant. Given the perfect circumstances, I’d really love to join again,” she stated.

The diva who is also a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador stated that aside from environmental issues and child malnutrition, she hopes to raise awareness about testicular cancer, which claimed his elder brother’s life last year. “I want to help erase the stigma on boys having testicular cancer. My brother didn’t voice out his problem earlier, so it was already too late for us to help him when we learned about it. I don’t want anyone to experience what we did,” she said.

Cynthia who has already won a title for the Philippines but aspires to be back at the beauty pageant world could be a strong contender for the title of Miss World Philippines in future. She is strong, confident, experienced, and focused towards her goals which makes her a strong contender for the title. She is fluent in German, Cebuano, Tagalog, and English languages and likes to travel the world and know about people and their traditions.  Cynthia has mentioned that if she wasn’t a model or a beauty queen, she would have been a flight attendant as she likes to travel a lot.

The diva has her own YouTube channel where she puts up her videos related to everything starting from fashion to food preferences to zoom meetings. Cynthia was signed by the GMA Artist Center, post her reign; after which she expressed her desire to act and attended acting workshops, reading, and acting to finesse her art. After working hard on herself she landed a big television break where she was casted for a supporting role in the Alden Richards-starrer, “The Gift”.

If she decides to participate at Miss World Philippines in future, she could be one of the strongest contenders as she feels the most empowered and encouraged when she is on-stage. She works on her body postures, angles, confidence, and on-stage walk on a regular basis. She also keeps her self healthy and fit by working out on daily basis and she closely looks after her skin.
