Miss World Philippines 2020/2021: Updates and Important Information

Miss World Philippines 2020/2021, the 10th edition of the national pageant, will be held soon where the official representative of Philippines to Miss World 2021 will be crowned. Miss World Philippines organization General Manager Arnold Mercado, at a recent interview of Pageantry Norms, revealed new information and updates about the upcoming edition.

According to the Manager, the official screening of the candidates will happen soon will happen either in the last week of January or first week of February. Another important update which was given was of the finale date as two tentative dates have been finalized – 30th May 2021 or 6th June 2021 with the venue being a toss-up between Araneta Coliseum or Mall of Asia Arena.

 

 

Initially it was known that seven titles will be awarded at the end of the event finale. However, an eighth title has been added as a new international franchise will be announced within this month or next. After the coronation night, eight titleholders and two runners-up will be photographed.

Miss Philippines Tourism 2019 Glyssa Perez is likely to represent the country in the still-unannounced 8th franchise, because the dates of international competition might be scheduled before the 2021 national edition.

Two of the still-reigning titleholders, Kelley Day and Isabelle de Leon, are confirmed to have their international competitions in the upcoming months. Miss Eco International will take place in Egypt from March 18 to April 6, while Miss Multinational will be hosted in New Delhi from June 17-27.

The finale will be a live production with 50% of the venue’s seating capacity to be filled up in compliance with health and safety protocols. What are your views?
