Ajah Deng Miss World South Sudan 2015 supports UNICEF

Reigning Miss South Sudan Ajah Deng is pleased to support the UNICEF Africa, in their latest campaign, providing meningitis vaccines for vulnerable children across the nation.

Speaking on social media about her current advocacy, Ajah Deng was quoted as saying- “Through the support of UNICEF and the Ministry of Health, we are providing free safe and effective vaccines across South Sudan. Please join my campaign and help me promote this great initiative and help save our children. They are the future of our nation.

It is a massive campaign which is following one of the worst measles outbreaks in Sudan’s recent history. This campaign is initiated to immunize 7.9 million children aged six months to 15 years against the life-threatening disease.

Measles is a life threatening disease but one that can easily be prevented with timely immunization,” said Geert Cappelaere, UNICEF Representative in Sudan. “Every girl and boy must be reached no matter where they live. There are no excuses and no child can be left out.

UNICEF encourages the rights and safety of every child, in everything they do. Together with the teamwork of the organization, they work in 190 countries and territories to translate their commitment into practical action, focusing special effort on reaching the most vulnerable children everywhere.

This newest campaign is one of many commenced by UNICEF to armor the wellbeing of some of the country’s most vulnerable people.

Ajah Deng, the beauty queen represented South Sudan at the Miss World 2015 pageant held on 19’ December in  Sanya, China, wherein Mireia Lalaguna Royo of Spain was crowned as the Miss World 2015 winner.
