The coronation ceremony of Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2020 will be held on 31st January 2021 at Southern Academy for The Performing Arts at 7:00 PM, where the delegates from all over the country will participate and compete for the national title as well as an opportunity to represent Trinidad and Tobago at Miss World 2020 stage. Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2019 Tya Jané Ramey will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
We’ve selected top five delegates who we think have the potential to win the title and represent Trinidad and Tobago at Miss World 2020. Let’s look at the favourites of Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2020:
Ameika Louis is representing Union Village at the competition and is one of the strongest contenders for the title. She is 26-years-old and stands 175 cm tall and has earned her degree in BSc in Sociology from the University of the West Indies. She is a dancer, choreographer and a fitness instructor who owns a dance studio and is very passionate towards representing Trinidad and Tobago at Miss World 2020. She wants to send out a message to the young girls in the country that pageants are not just about looks but more than that including beauty with a purpose. The diva who wants to grow her beauty with a purpose project beyond the pageant as well is focused on empowerment and rehabilitation of vulnerable youth through their involvement in folk and cultural arts.
Chanel Glasgow is representing Sangre Grande at the competition; is 26-years-old and stands 180 cm tall and has earned her degree in Masters in Acting from the Drama Centre in London and aspires to open a drama school in the Caribbean. The diva who also aspires to represent Trinidad and Tobago at Miss World 2020 is keen on using the platform to advocate the Trinidad and Caribbean culture. She mentioned, “We are natural storytellers with a wealth of stories to tell and the world is ready to listen! I have made it my mission in life to use the platform of creative arts to influence those around me.” She is strong, confident, and focused towards performing her best on-stage and win the title.
Vanessa Hackett is representing Rio Claro at the competition; is 24-years-old and stands 180 cm tall and has earned her bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Technology and is hopeful with her performance at Miss World Trinidad and Tobago 2020. She describes herself as ambitious, extrovert, and unique who is using the platform to advocate people with her The Vtech Project where she along with her team wants to ensures that the underprivileged children are given a fair chance of bright future. She explained, “The project would enable underprivileged children the opportunity to have an education at home during the wrath of the global pandemic. Education is the future of our nation.”
Manisha Moonilal is representing Marabella at the competition; is 22-years-old and stands 167 cm tall and graduated with first class honours in Management Studies from the University of the West Indies and hopes to open a cancer wellness centre that focuses on incorporating western medicine and holistic treatments. The diva won the ‘Beauty with a Purpose’ award at the competition and her advocacy ‘Rise Above Poverty’ which is a foundation dedicated to her mother. The diva believes that a child should not be limited by their socio-economic status or environment.
Jemima Sarah Renèe Pierre is representing Chaguanas at the competition; is 20-years-old and stands 180 cm tall and is pursuing her degree in Busines Management and is very passionate about representing Trinidad and Tobago at Miss World 2020. She is an avid swimmer and mentions that with the support of her parents have learnt to love herself and love others even more. She stated, “My duty as Miss Chaguanas seeks to empower, uplift and educate people from all walks of life. To be the difference! Change mindsets and take steps decrease the inequality gap. I chose swimming because I am good at instructing and it has been proven to help individuals feel more secure in themselves.”
