The Miss World is no longer just a beauty pageant, and has emerged as a platform for young women from across the globe to showcase their talent, intelligence and work towards a greater good. Miss World pageant provides the contestants with the opportunity to display their culture and raise awareness towards various humanitarian causes. Every year the pageant raises millions of pounds for charitable work under the banner of “Beauty with a Purpose” program.

Talking about the “Beauty with a Purpose” (BWAP) program, the contestants of the Miss World 2016 are setting the perfect example for it. The candidates of this year’s Miss World pageant have very clearly stated it that the responsibility of working towards humanitarian causes is not just limited to the winner. Miss World Cook Islands 2016 Natalia Short is among the many contestants who are dedicatedly working their bit for the society.
 
The beauty queen has volunteered for the Takitumu Fire Brigade, to learn to protect her community. It’s good to see the contestants come ahead and learn something beneficial for the society. Such acts by these beauties prove that in today’s scenario, beauty pageants are no longer about the outer beauty, and that the beauty should be about more on the inside than on the outside. 
 
 
22 year old Natalia is passionate about sports, and therefore, by winning the sports challenge at MW 2016, the beauty queen made it to the Top 20 finalists at the finals. For Natalia, her family is her backbone. The beauty queen says, “I want to set a good example to my siblings and Cook Islands’ youth, helping them realize they can do anything they set their minds to. They are my motivation!”
