Although, there has not been any official announcement as of now, Miss Universe President Paula Shugart confirmed this in one of her recent interviews.

Shocking!! Isn’t it..?? From around 14 years, the Miss Universe Organisation has ditched the Top 10 format and has been announcing the Top 15 semi – finalists. But now what we hear from sources is that this year it’s going to follow the old format of calling out 10 names out of 80 aspirants. They will compete in swimsuits and evening gowns. Then Top 5 will be announced who will compete in interviews (Judges’ Questions). Further, there will be the announcement of Top 3 finalists, who will then go on to answer one common question. Finally, there will be a final vote based on overall impression and performance in the last round. And yes, all this has not yet been Confirmed by the MUO.

Now, this can be a tricky thing and quite disappointing for many fans as well. As the top 10 would mean only ten girls will be under the limelight at the finals. Also, this year can be termed as the most competitive batch of all, so it is but obvious that the fans might fear on their favourites. This change means that only the best of the best will have a chance to make it to the next round.
With just ten girls being picked up, the competition will be extremely difficult and nail biting. Plus, now all the girls will get a chance to compete at the swimsuit and evening gown round. Looks like the rumoured Miss Universe 2015 format is bringing in more and more excitement along with some panic moments.
