When asked how it feels to finally have the crown, Loren said that she is of course happy but also added that it would have been so much more “sweeter” if she had got it during the actual coronation night. Loren also talked about Schweighart’s controversial comments and was quick to defend the former by adding that “there was a lot of pressure on her because of the country’s back-to-back wins and because we were hosting the contest.” She also added that she had seen Schweighart enjoy the contest and at the same time she also saw her feel the burden on her shoulders.

According to Loren, Schweighart is a strong person and that it must have been the online bashing or the pressure that caught her in a whirlpool of problem.  “The way I see it, I should give her enough time and space to heal and to let the issue settle down. When the right time comes, I will comfort her. She was one of the candidates I was with before the Miss Earth competition,” said Loren adding that she hasn’t yet reached out to Schweighart.

Loren Artajos also talked about her advocacy and said that now when she is the official representative of the Miss Earth pageant, she will use her title “to push (her) advocacy regarding renewable energy.” She further added, “Coming from Ilocos, which is home to the giant windmills, I myself am reaping the benefit of using renewable energy…It helps boost tourism in the area and gives free electricity to the towns nearby.”

The beauty queen talked about bringing the social media to use to spread her message and inform people about climate change.
