Nicole Peloquin's platform for the Miss Rhode Island pageant was titled as “Be the Match: The National Bone Marrow Registry.” Sixteen contestants from Rhode Island competed for the title of Miss Rhode Island, while 10 competed for the title of Rhode Island’s Outstanding Teen.

"I have competed two other times for the title of Miss Rhode Island, and like they say, the third time is a charm!! Thank you to everyone who has helped me along the way. I have gained more than just scholarships, I have gained sisters. The four points on the crown are service, scholarship, success, and style. If I could add a fifth point, it would be sisterhood. I am so incredibly thankful for the sisters I have gained through this organization. You all mean so much to me and I promise to make you proud this year" said Nicole Peloquin after her crowning as Miss Rhode Island 2017.

The last placement of Rhode Island at the Miss America Pageant was in 2003 with Laurie Gray when she made to the TOP 10. Let’s see if Peloquin from Rhode Island will be able to win the prestigious crown of Miss America 2018 or not.
