There will be no Mexican delegate at the upcoming Miss World pageant!
Miss Universe 1991, Lupita Jones, who is the National Director of Mexico’s pageant, confirmed the buzz via Twitter on April 27’ 2016 (Wednesday), after Mexican media giant Televisa announced it would no longer broadcast the annual pageant or engage any other project with the Miss World organization.
In the Statement, Neustra Belleza Mexico declared, “In response to questions about the participation of Nuestra Belleza Mexico in Miss World, we inform you that our company Televisa decided not to continue with the license of this contest, so this year the organization will not be sent to a Maxican representative to that international competition.

We appreciate an excellent working relationship with this organization for the past 21 years, during which our representatives were great opportunities for growth and development both personally and professionally.

Televisa and former Miss Universe Lupita Jones help run Nuestra Belleza Mexico, a national pageant that determines the country’s contestant for Miss World and other international beauty pageants.

Last year, when the former franchise holder of Miss Universe, Donald Trump publicly offended Mexicans and Latinos in the U.S. by calling them “rapists” and “criminals”, the real estate tycoon faced some serious trouble with his businesses, which had a lot of Latinos involved.
Nuestra Belleza México’s director, uttered her desire to stay away from the Miss Universe Beauty Pageant immediately after Trump’s comments went viral. But things went in place and Mexico did compete at the Miss Universe pageant.
However, the reasons behind Mexico’s discontinuation with the Miss World pageant are not yet known. We just hope things fall out in place between Miss World and Nuestra Belleza pageant.
