After Steve Harvey’s fiasco in announcing the name of real winner, it’s now time to witness the darling of press and the newly crowned Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach in her reign! The third Miss Universe from Philippines, Pia Wurtzbach made her first appearance as the Miss Universe in her first press conference post her crowning.

Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was greeted with joy by the media at the press conference held at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on December 20, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The new beauty queen, had this to say: “I am very sorry, I didn’t take the crown from her and I wish her well in whatever she wants to pursue. Mistake is a mistake. No one is perfect. We all did mistakes. There are worst mistake than this in the world.”

Pia Wurtzbach's father is German and her mother is Filipino. Pia Wurtzbach is a professional model, actress, host and TV personality. She is also a Culinary Arts graduate from the Center for Culinary Studies. At age 4, under the name Pia Romero, she worked as an actress and was managed by ABS-CBN's theatrical agency called Star Magic. Among her TV credits are the teen-oriented series K2BU, the concert variety program ASAP, the romance anthology Your Song, the sitcom show Bora, and the drama series Sa Piling Mo. She appeared in films such as Kung Ako Na Lang Sana (2003), All My Life (2004), and All About Love (2006). At present she is a stylist, makeup artist and beauty writer for Inquirer Lifestyle's 2bU section. Having previously competed in the Bb Pilipinas pageant, Wurtzbach took part in the competition for the third time in 2015 where she eventually won, crowned as Miss Universe Philippines 2015 by the outgoing titleholder Miss Universe Philippines 2014 Mary Jean Lastimosa.
