The much awaited pageant of Indonesia, Puteri Indonesia, is here with its 2017 edition, The gala coronation of the pageant is scheduled to be held on 31st March 2017. Puteri Indonesia 2016 KeziaWarouw of North Sulawesi will crown her successor during the event. This will be the 21st edition of the national beauty pageant of Indonesia.

A total of 39 finalists are competing to clinch the coveted title, and the winner will earn the right to represent the country at the Miss Universe 2017 pageant. The finalists are all geared up for the coronation night which is to be held in just 6 days. The girls have been busy attending personality development sessions with the professionals. From learning to walk to how to talk and present themselves on stage, the girls are doing it all. The Puteri Indonesia Organisation has also organised special exercise sessions for the girls. So, the schedule for the delegates is all zipped up, and the competition is also strong.
 
Recently, the contestants also participated at a fashion show, along with the reigning queens of Puteri Indonesia. During the fashion show, the delegates exhibited their talent and catwalk skills, impressing the judges and the audience with their charm. The fashion show was a part of the various other preliminary activities lined up for the girls.
 
Puteri Indonesia (meaning “Princess of Indonesia”), also known as Miss Universe Indonesia, is the beauty pageant in Indonesia, that selects and sends the winner for the Miss Universe international pageant. The Puteri Indonesia pageant was established in 1992 and is considered the oldest pageant in Indonesia.
 
Since 1995, Puteri Indonesia, started choosing winners for the Miss Universe, but in 1996, Mrs. Tien Suharto, who was the wife of the late second president of the Republic of Indonesia, Suharto, forced the winner to withdraw from competing at the Miss Universe pageant. However, in the year 2004, when Suharto was overthrown, Puteri Indonesia resumed the process of sending winner to Miss Universe.
