Binibining Pilipinas is the most successful and popular pageant in the Philippines, and the pageant crazy nation is eagerly waiting to find out who all will chase the race for the title of Bb Pilipinas 2017. After winning the Miss Universe 2015 pageant, Philippines had high hopes with Maxine Medina of bringing a back to back victory for Philippines. However, after the Top 6 Q& competition, Maxine couldn’t make it to the Top 3. Although she was criticised by many for her answer, there were also few who came ahead in support of her. And now it looks like that the Bb Pilipinas Organisation is making sure to give more weightage to the communication skills this year.

According to news report by Mario Dumaual of TV Patrol, the 54th edition of the Binibining Pilipinas pageant will be about cracking the tough round of questions and answers with conviction. This has been done to keep up with the new Miss Universe format. Under the new format, the candidates will get to flaunt their ability to articulate themselves under pressure while sharing a thoughtful, well-informed response during Preliminary and Final Competition.

If reports are to be believed, Binibining Pilipinas will also adhere to the Miss Universe organization purpose : "The Miss Universe Organization empowers women to develop the confidence they need to achieve their personal best. A confident woman has the power to make real change, starting in her local community with the potential to reach a global audience… and continue to define what it means to be Confidently Beautiful."

When you see this sort of conviction and dedication from the Organisation itself, you understand why and how the country manages to produce a front runner, year after year. Bb Pilipinas pageant was intended as a prestigious fund-raising activity for projects to benefit orphans, poor families and other less fortunate members of Philippine society. The Philippines, through BPCI, has produced the country’s best beauties. It offered Philippines with three Miss Universe winners - Gloria Diaz in 1969, Margarita Moran in 1973 and Pia Wurtzbach in 2015, five Miss International winners - Aurora Pijuan in 1970, Melanie Marquez in 1979, Lara Quigaman in 2005, Bea Santiago in 2013 and Kylie Verzosa in 2016, and one Miss Supranational winner, Mutya Datul Miss Supranational in 2013.
