Rachel Millns from Kapiti Coast was crowned Miss Universe New Zealand 2014 at the conclusion of the national pageant finals held at Sky City Theatre, Auckland on September 18' 2014. She succeeds the very beautiful Miss Universe New Zealand 2013 - Holly Michelle Cassidy. The first runner-was Monique Cooley and the second runner-up was Becky Hingston.
Rachel is 23 years old, and she was also a Top 5 finalist in the Miss Universe New Zealand 2013. Prior to that she had also won Miss Nature Coast 2012 and Miss Hutt Valley 2011. She will now represent New Zealand at Miss Universe 2014 pageant. The gala final, which was also graced by the presence of special guest judge Chalita Yaemwannang, Miss Universe Thailand 2013, had twenty-five (25) finalists competing to succeed Holly Cassidy.
