A crown not just acknowledges a beauty, but bring with its lots of laurels, responsibilities and opportunities, and when it is Miss World crown, the pride in wearing it is broadened all the more. Last year, on 14 December 2014, London, Rolene Strauss from South Africa was crowned as the ambassador of “Beauty with a Purpose”. The favourite of masses and jury, Rolene took her responsibilities and duties of Miss World magnificently, thereby lightening up the hopes of impoverished and destitute. On 19th December 2015, the startling beauty will be passing on her crown on a laudable head! As her reign comes to an end, Rolene ponders over her most cherished moments lived during her reign as Miss World.

On a bright Tuesday morning, 24’ November 2015, Rolene shared one picture on her official social media handle, cherishing her “Beauty with a Purpose Memories”. Expressing her ecstasy over the reign, Rolene wrote: “Decided to share some of my fondest #BeautyWithAPurposeMemories with you during my last month as Miss World. I hope you will enjoy them as much as I enjoy reliving them. My first memory, a visit to the Amajuba Memorial Hospital during my homecoming in my home town Volksrust. This is where my passion for medicine blossomed as a little girl.”
With just a few weeks left as Miss World, Miss South Africa 2014, Rolene Strauss will soon be swapping her crown for medical textbooks and a wedding ring. In a press interview, Rolene stated: "I have such an exciting year ahead ... getting married and launching the Strauss Foundation are but a few of the things I am looking forward to." She illustrated her reign as enchanting, saying: "I am seeing the world through different eyes after this amazing year."
In July 2015, Rolene declared about her engagement to her long time beau, D’Niel Strauss, by posting a picture of her hand bejeweled with a beautiful engagement ring, captioning it with 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 scripture: “Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.” Rolene is looking forward to take her relationship to a newer level, by getting married to the man of her dreams, very soon!

During her reign, Rolene visited many countries to execute her “Beauty with a Purpose” vision, setting a trademark of how a beauty can work to bring philanthropy and wit together. The former University of the Free State medical student, Rolene is now in Sanya, China, for the lead-up to the 65th Miss World finale.
Volksrust born, Rolene Strauss said she had sampled some "weird" food on her travels, from snake in China to grasshoppers in Mexico, and expressed, she loved trying out delicacies of the countries she has visited.
When asked about a piece of advice she would like to offer to the beautiful contestants vying to succeed her at Miss World this year, Rolene uttered, “Stay true to yourself!” She opined: "It is so important to be yourself. Be kind and humble, and know what to tell them about yourself that is important for the Miss World Organisation to know. If you don't tell them, who will?"
Rolene has proved to be one of the most humble, beautiful and kind Miss World lately, her reign will be missed truly! She has definitely set the bars high for the coming editions!
