Sarah Hollins Crowned Miss Nebraska USA 2016

Sarah Hollins was crowned as Miss Nebraska USA 2016 by the outgoing queen, Hoang Kim Cung in the scintillating event held on January 17, 2016. Miss Midwest, Taida Pajazetovic was titled as first runner-up, Miss Sarpy County, Sarah Summers was adjudged as second runner-up, Miss Greater Omaha, Madison Novak was declared as third runner-up and Miss Douglas County, Jessica White was announced as fourth runner-up. In the same event, Erika Etzelmiller was crowned as Miss Nebraska Teen USA 2016.

Completing the semi-finalists spots were, Danielle Hill, Sinead Siems, Melissa Sloboth, Chrissy Townsend, Meredith Burroughs and Jessica Shultis. Sarah Hollins now compete at the 2016 Miss USA Pageant where she hopes to be crowned by the reigning Miss USA, Olivia Jordan from Oklahoma, who was also the second runner up at Miss Universe 2015.

Sarah has studied journalism and public relations at the University of Missouri-Columbia and is not a newbie to pageantry. The newly crownes, Miss Nebraska USA is a former Miss Nebraska Teen USA. She competed at the Miss Teen USA Pageant in 2009.

Nebraska is one of the least successful states at Miss USA, and has placed only 10 times in the history of Miss USA pageant. Nebraska was most successful in the 1950s, placing 6 times, with three runner up placements. Their highest placement was in 1955 which was 2nd runner up. Belinda Wright's Top 15 placement in 2010 was Nebraska's first semi-final placement since 1980 and she was the first delegate to win Miss Congeniality subtitle at Miss USA for Nebraska.
