Philippines is finally shifting its focus to the next pageant, the Miss World Philippines. Miss World Philippines Organisation is now looking forward to the 2017 edition, and the search for the 2017 candidates has begun. As per the recent reports, the 2017 edition of Miss World Philippines pageant is scheduled to be held in the month do September.

The organisation along with ALV Events International announced that they are now opening the search for this year's candidates. The application form for the Miss World Philippines 2017 pageant can be downloaded from the official website of Miss World Philippines, and the last date for the submission of form is 22nd July.

The winner of Miss World Philippines 2017 will represent the country at the Miss World 2017 pageant, which is scheduled to be held later this year in China. The reigning Miss World Philippines is Catriona Gray. Catriona represented the Philippines at the Miss World 2016 pageant, and was titled as the third runner-up.

The last time Philippines won the Miss World title was in the year 2013 under the representation of Megan Young. In 2011, Gwendoline Ruais placed 1st runner-up, while in 2012, Queenierich Rehman was part of the Top 8. Miss World Philippines 2014 Valerie Weigmann finished in the Top 25, while Hillarie Danielle Parungao made it to the Top 10 in 2015.
