23 year old Shirley Atehortua is among our Top 25 favourites of Miss World 2016. The beauty queen is representing Colombia at the Miss World 2016 pageant. Standing tall at a towering height of 180cm, Shirley speaks fluent Spanish and English. A journalist by profession, this Colombian beauty is a show stealer with her stellar smile and attractive body language.

Shirley is not your typical beauty queen, in fact she is also a professional hockey player. Shirley describes herself as a woman of great principles. She believes in living life with honesty, humility and perseverance. The beauty queen prepares her everyday and contributes to serve humanity with professionalism and with all her capabilities.
Talking about hockey, Shirley is very passionate about the sport. She never bothered to travel all the way from her village to train herself for the sport. She has been a part of the national team and being an integral part of the national hockey team was dream come true for this beauty. We wonder how beauty pageant happened for her. Shirley talked about her most memorable moment till date and said, “My most memorable moment was when I sang the national hymn of my country when I was a member of the national team of Colombia in the world championship of hockey in Rosario (Argentina) in 2015.” Sure it was her most memorable moment, given the fact that she is so passionately in love with the sport.
It’s not just sports that fascinate Shirley; the beauty queen is also involved with her social work when it comes to her title. She is leading a project involving children who have been affected by violence. Shirrley is helping in getting them sports and recreational activities, supported by athletes. Now that’s mixing your passion with your responsibilities.
Shirley Atehortúa’s gift to the charity auction of Miss World Beauty with a Purpose is a necklace crafted in silver 950 and emeralds whitebait in oval size embedded in boxes to the bezel. Her designer gown is a red cherry, strapless type heart made of silk taffeta, tight to the waist and full skirt in triangle with tail, finely embroidered in Swarovski crystals.
