Visna Fernando (aka Paththage Visna Kawmini Fernando), the representative of Sri Lanka for Miss Grand International 2017, is our third favourite for the crown.

This captivating beauty is 26 years old, weighs 53 kgs, with a gracious height of 178 cm and a flawless figure of 35-23-36. Visna has pursued her education from the Kelaniya University, majoring in Geography, simultaneous to following CBF at Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka. She has been a sports person as well, representing her country as a national Netball player and was also a member of the Sri Lanka Navy Netball team.

Visna was appointed as Peace Messenger, Sri Lanka by the World Peace & Diplomacy Organization. She also worked as a woman sailor in Sri Lankan Navy for three years and was appreciated and certified for her work as a woman sailor by the honourable president of Sri Lanka.

She currently works as a model for many brands in Sri Lanka as well as India. Her face appears in many commercials and she is the face of ABSTRACT and Molly Boulevard.

The Sri Lankan beauty loves to read, listen to music, and watch movies. An animal lover, she spends a lot of quality time with her pets. Believing in charity causes, she volunteers at Manusath Derana for spreading awareness of kidney diseases. A firm believer in women power, she wants to encourage all the ladies to pursue their dreams and have hope.

She has won many accolades in the world of pageantry. Her journey in the world of beauty pageants started with participation in Miss World 2014 where she could not reach the Top 3 stage. However, the very next year she prepared herself better and went on to win the crown of Miss Earth Sri Lanka 2015 and then represented Sri Lanka in Miss Earth 2015, though remaining unplaced at the finale held in Austria.

This did not discourage her as the very next year as she represented Sri Lanka in Top Model of the World 2016 pageant, and became the second runner-up at the finale which was won by Margo Cooper from Bulgaria.

Visna has got talent and that 'oomph factor' to win the title of Miss Grand International title for Sri Lanka. And every year she comes back to participate in a beauty pageant, she manages to exceed her previous performance, and it seems she will do the same this year!
