Miss Universe Singapore is an annual beauty pageant held in Singapore to select the country's representative to the Miss Universe pageant. Currently, Miss Universe Singapore Organisation B.V. holds the license for Miss Universe Singapore. Prior 2015, the pageant was organized by Derrol Stepenny Promotions.
The Miss Universe Singapore pageant has nurtured many fiercely intelligent and beautiful ambassadors of Singapore in the last 50 years. While the pageant has evolved over the years, at its core, it remains true to the goal of seeking a role model to champion the ideals and attributes of the modern independent Singaporean woman, who is ambitious and has a steadfast view of her ability to contribute to and make a positive impact on her community.
Singapore has been sending representatives to Miss Universe contest since 1954, and Marjorie Wee was the first Singaporean to represent Singapore in Miss Universe 1954. The first Miss Singapore was Mariani Ismail in 1951, though she did not compete in Miss Universe. Singapore has been represented at Miss Universe every year since 1966. However, Singapore has not yet managed to win any Miss Universe title.
Singapore though managed to earn two placements in Miss Universe - Kathie Lee Lee Ben was placed Top 12 (8th position) in Miss Universe 1983 and Marion Nicole Teo was placed Top 10 (9th position) in Miss Universe 1987.
Miss Universe Singapore 2016 was held on October 16' 2016 when Cheryl Chou was crowned as the winner.
