Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2017 pageant recently had a Preliminary Competition. The 2017 edition of Miss Universe Puerto Rico pageant is on its road to the finale and is scheduled to be held on 4th May 2017. The Preliminary Competition saw the contestants walk the stage flaunting their gorgeous outfits, and showcasing their modelling skills.

Among the local and international designers who dressed the participants were; José Raúl, Jaer Caban, Juan Carlos Collazo, Lisa Porrata, Gionni Stracia, Giannina Azar, Carlos Alberto, Edzel Giovanni, Elier Aubret and Eddie Guerrero, among others. The contestants who managed to outshine during the pageant were from San Juan (Danna Hernández) and Aibonito (Gretchen Columbus).

The girls took the stage donning their respective evening gowns, and from shimmery metallic to soft pastels, different shades dominated the stage. Gracing the panel of jury were the following judges...

Lorel Torres, designer of the swimwear line Mare Cheia; Catalina Morales, MUPR 2015; Dr. Eneida de la Torre, Novaderm dermatologist; Edgardo Virella, interview trainer at MUPR; Mary Castro owns U Salon; The influencer and model Windy Pagán, Joseph Padró, fashion stylist; The photographer Fernando Cruz and Alma Frontera, marketing coordinator El San Juan Hotel.

The hosts for the night were famous Puerto Rican actor Derek Díaz, and Brenda Azaria Jiménez, Miss Universe Puerto Rico 2016. Based on the Preliminary Competition, the semi-finalists of the pageant will be announced at the finale which is scheduled to be held on 4th May 2017.  The finals will be held at the Luis A. Ferré Fine Arts Center in San Juan.

It will be exciting to see the contestants on how they showcase themselves to the level of perfection. The contestants are pretty excited and gearing themselves up to keep up the competition up and give a tough competition to other contestants.
