The gala finale of Miss Earth 2016 is scheduled to be held on 29th October 2016. At the conclusion of the finale, Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong will pass on her crown and her responsibilities to her successor. The finalists are gearing up to put their best put forward and are competing through various preliminary rounds.

One such Preliminary Competition is scheduled to be held tonight, i.e. 24th October 2016 – the National Costume Competition. National Costume Competition is one of the most important and most entertaining competitions of the pageants. It gives an insight to the culture and tradition of the finalists’ nations. The National Costume Competition is the most grand out of all the competitions.

In addition to the rehearsals and preparations, the contestants of Miss Earth 2016 beauty pageant were recently welcomed by the people of the Iligan city of Philippines, where they went on the eco-tourism tour of the country, and to promote the Miss Earth organisation’s policy of protecting Mother Earth.

The winners of Miss Earth dedicate their year to promote specific projects and often address issues concerning the environment and other global issues, through school tours, tree planting activities, street campaigns, coastal clean ups, speaking engagements, shopping mall tours, media appearances, environmental fair, storytelling programs, eco-fashion shows, and other environmental activities.
