Shifting focus to our next finalist, we have 18 year old Entrepreneurial Management Student Samantha Viktoria Acosta. The beauty has a great faith in God and believes in treating everyone with equality. She aspires to be a social entrepreneur someday. She also wants to be a beauty queen not just because of the title but also to be able to inspire and influence other people.
Talking about her advocacy, Samantha says,” GREEN TIME: “The time for Mother Nature is NOW.”
What is Green Time? Green Time is an environmental awareness campaign aimed at the youth. The program encourages them to allot at least 5 minutes of their time every day to do something meaningful for the environment. I believe in the saying of Lao Tzu which said, “A journey of a thousand mile, begins with a single step.” I’d like to impart to the youth that if we do something beneficial to Mother Earth, no matter how small, can be a beginning of something big. I intend to do this by creating environmental awareness, building a connection between the youth, the community and the environment and changing their perception about the environment through experiential environmental activities.
