Miss America 2019 still to be hosted in Atlantic City

18 Apr 2018 | Angelique Reyes

Miss America 2019, after months of email debacle, will stay in Atlantic city as the Atlantic city officials announced. Atlantic City, the long-time home of the Miss America Organization, has been in debate since the end of 2017 about whether the Miss America pageant would continue to be funded this year.

The local politicians have been calling for the city to take away its monetary support worrying thousands of Miss America fans all over the states. The reigning Miss America is Cara Mund.

Despite the news of Miss America Organization to be allowed to remain in its long time venue, there is no news about the date of the pageant finale.

After the 2017 email scandal, a majority part of the reason behind Authority’s agreement is the efforts seen to reinvent the pageant organization, centering more around women’s empowerment.

The CRDA is encouraged by the Miss America Organization’s description that the 2019 competition will be updated to include a focus on women’s empowerment and other related programs. In 2016, the CRDA signed a joint agreement with the Miss America Organization and Dick Clark Productions. Today, by this resolution we will reserve the funds for the 2019 competition pursuant to this agreement.” said Robert E. Mulcahy III, CRDA board chairman.

Now that we are sure the organization has a home, we hope to hear soon about the specific date and other updates for Miss America 2019.
