After Miss Universe Organization gave permission to the national directors to appoint the last year’s runner-up to represent their country at Miss Universe 2020 and Panama followed suit, the pageant fanatics have begun to prepare their lists of favourite runners-up from last year. One name that is most common amongst them all is of Alejandra Gonzales Miss USA 2019 first runner-up and a mega fan favourite.

The stunning beauty represented New Mexico at Miss USA 2019 last year and gained a place in people’s hearts with her mesmerising beauty and talent. The 26-year-old stunner who is a Mexican-American in heritage does not have a lot of time left to compete at international level due to age limit so this opportunity comes in at a very advantageous time for the beauty. Always taught to make education a priority, Allie graduated from the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley. She is currently working towards earning her Certified Public Accounting (CPA) license.

Her time to shine began as she was crowned Miss New Mexico USA 2019 before she participated in Miss USA 2019. From Las Cruces, Gonzalez became the third state pageant titleholder to hail from Las Cruces. Being a first generation Mexican-American, Allie is her parents’ American dream. Allie’s parents immigrated to the United States from Monterrey, Nuevo Leon, Mexico, making her a first generation American. Though originally from South Texas, she and her family moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico last summer.

Gonzalez used her platform to fight for animal rights which she is very passionate about. Allie’s pageant career began when she was just 20 years old and participated in Miss Texas USA. She grew up watching pageants which shaped her into the woman she is today.  If Alejandra gets the chance to represent USA at Miss Universe 2020, there’s no doubt she will win a major spot for her country.

Miss USA has crowned its 51 representatives to compete for Miss USA 2020 but with the corona outbreak, it seems a little difficult to see any national pageant being held. It also doesn’t give the winner enough time to prepare for her international stint and thus this makes the most sense.
