Briana Kinsey of Hoover has been crowned as Miss District of Columbia 2017. Her platform for the competition was, “Daring to defeat Diabetes’’, and for her talent round she sang, “Born for this”.
She will now represent her state at the Miss America 2018, to be held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on September10, 2017. The finale will be broadcast by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). Miss America 2017 Savvy Shields from Arkansas will officially crown her successor.
Briana is a graduate of American University. As a business owner and student, she understands the importance of cultivating and sustaining positive relationships. Her dream job is to work as a pediatric endocrinologist at a children’s miracle hospital.
California beauty maintains an optimistic attitude even through challenges and strives to have a positive environment. Briana says that she is motivated by those who have come before her and the young women who are coming after her.
Briana is tall, black, single, independent female with big dreams. She is the child of Physiatrist and a small business owner. She is very close to her family. Briana was once a reserved and unmotivated teenager who didn’t believe in herself and had a low self-esteem. The Miss America Organisation was instrumental in helping her find herself and what she is passionate about.
