Miss Lexington Caty Davis has been crowned as Miss Tennessee 2017 at the Carl Perkins Civic Center Saturday.
She will now represent her state at the Miss America 2018 to be held in Atlantic City, New Jersey, on September10, 2017. The event will be broadcast by the American Broadcasting Company (ABC). Miss America 2017 from Arkansas, Savvy Shields, will officially crown her successor.
Davis won the preliminary competition for swimsuit on Friday night. On her win, she said,” I am so excited to start my year of service … implement my platform statewide and of course to go to Miss America,”
After competing in four Miss Tennessee pageants, finally winning the crown was a “dream come true” for Davis.
“I was actually first runner-up last year so it was a lot of pressure coming back, but I put that pressure into every phase of competition,” she noted.
“My hard work paid off so I am overjoyed,” she further added.
