Christina Mikkelsen from København (Copenhagen) has been crowned Face of Denmark 2016 (Miss Universe Denmark 2016) at the conclusion of the national pageant held tonight in Copenhagen. Christina will now represent Denmark at Miss Universe 2016 pageant to be held later this year.
At the same event, Sofie Klejnstrup Nielsen (Christianshavn) was crowned Miss Supranational Denmark, Sara Skals Danielsen (Odense) was crowned Miss International Denmark and Alexandria Eissinger (Roskilde) was crowned Miss Earth Denmark. The three runners-up will now represent Denmark in Miss Supranational 2016, Miss International 2016 and Miss Earth 2016 respectively.
Denmark has never won any Miss Universe title till date, and its last placement in Miss Universe was in the year 2007, when Žaklina Šojic was placed in the Top 15 semifinalists. The highest placement for Denmark was in the year 1963, when Aino Korva Williams became the first runner-up crown.
