It’s Official that Brenda Castro will represent Costa Rica in the next Miss Universe Pageant! And this confirmation was made by Televisora de Costa Rica, a Spanish news portal months after deciding to withdraw from the pageant following the controversial remarks made by former Miss Universe Organization owner Donald Trump on Mexican immigrants.
Initially Costa Rica announced that they are boycotting the pageant due to former owner Donald Trump’s xenophobic statements against Mexicans. Though not only Costa Rica but many other South American countries withdrew their participation in MU.
Last July, the authorities of Costa Rica announced that they would not send any contestant until Donald Trump apologize for his offensive comments against Mexicans. However, now, they have confirmed that Brenda Castro, Miss Costa Rica 2015, will be competing in the pageant.
In a television appearance on Teletica Siete, the 23 year old beauty queen, Brenda Castro has confirmed her participation in MU. Her official Facebook page also confirms this news. This Costa Rican is being considered as one of the stronger Latinas that will vie in the contest.
With their (Costa Rica) participation, all eyes are now on the Mexican journalist, model, and beauty pageant titleholder who won Nuestra Belleza Mexico 2014, Wendolly Esparza. Will she too represent her country at the Miss Universe 2015?
