Emma Lauret crowned as Miss Earth Réunion 2017

Miss Earth Réunion Island 2017 took place on July 8 at The Jardinvètat at Saint Danis. At the end of the finale, Emma Lauret was crowned Miss Earth Reunion 2017. She bested 9 hopefuls to walk away with the crown and represent Réunion Island, region of France in the Indian Ocean, at Miss Earth 2017 in the Philippines.

The outgoing queen, Elsa Techer passed the crown to her successor Emma Lauret. She congratulated her and gave her warm wishes to succeed in life.

She will be outclassing nine other candidates for the right to represent the island in Miss Earth. Miss Earth 2016 Katherine Espin and Miss Earth Air 2016 Michelle Gomes were special guests at the event.

Prior to the finals, the two beauty queens went on a school tour to promote environmental awareness among the youth of Réunion Island.

Her elemental court included Aurelie Robert (Miss Air), Manycia Bertchie (Miss Water) and Julie Marguerite (Miss Fire).

Miss Earth Réunion is an annual beauty pageant in Reunion Island. The winner of Miss Earth Reunion obtains the right to represent the region in the Miss Earth pageant, the third most important beauty festival in the world, where the goal is to promote environmental protection.

Réunion Island made its debut at Miss Earth in the year 2012 and hasn’t won Miss Earth crown or placed in the semi-finals yet.
