Miss Grand Netherlands 2018 took a rocking start with twelve finalists. However, due to an unfortunate turn of events, one of the finalists, Deborah Van Hemert, had to back off. Now, only 11 finalists remain as the coronation night nears us.
The 11 finalists are enjoying every bit of the pageant and are working hard to get closer to the crown. The reigning queen Miss Grand Netherlands 2017, Kelly Van Den Dungen is also spending time with the delegates, giving them tips and sharing her own experience with the girls. The candidates of Miss Grand Netherlands 2018 also had a chance to enjoy an official photo shoot with the reigning queen.
But, it’s time we get to know each and every one of them personally. So here is Miss Grand Netherlands 2018 finalist Michantely Lisse’s future plans, and past struggles.
Q. How does it feel to be a delegate of Miss Grand Netherlands 2018?
It is an honor to be a Finalist of Miss Grand Netherlands 2018. I want to represent to you all the best of my abilities and to be a good role model to all.
Q. What is the best lesson you have learnt that has shaped your life?
The best lesson I have learned that shaped my life is to be good, kind and generous.
Q. What is the one thing that keeps you going and inspires you to be the best version of yourself?
My mother inspires me. She thought me to learn from my sacrifice on my behalf. Trying to be supportive, patient, loving and yet disciplined to reach my goals in life.
Q. Other than the Miss Grand Netherlands crown, what do you want to achieve from this competition?
Besides winning the crown, I want people to know that the crown comes with serious responsibilities by an open dialogue and leadership. I will bring these up, so we can resolve them as people living together on the planet.
Q. We are sure that this competition is just another milestone in your life. What is that one thing that you consider your life goal?
What keeps me going is the image of who I want to be. Having that vision in my mind is what motivates and drive me forward. Keeping the mindset of reaching that image that forever will evolve as my goals, challenges and dreams change. What I hope to achieve with this competition is awareness to the causes and the best for everyone.
Q. How would you like to represent yourself at the national stage at Miss Grand Netherlands 2018?
As a beauty queen, I will use my position to promote Miss Grand by Social Media, the pageant itself and if necessary, I put on personal presence to spread the wonderful message of peace.
Q. Who is your idol, and what values of theirs do you wish you could inculcate in your own life, and teach the next generation?
My biggest idol is Oprah Winfrey. Her life was filled with struggle, blessings and failures. Regardless of the matter, she fought through it all with dignity and grace. I have also learned from my mom how powerful women can be when they set their minds on something. I have always be inspire by beauty with a purpose. One of the things I am very passionate about is to help to teach the next generation to understand the beauty of themselves. My message to them is: -Dream Big -Realizing your dream, there is going to be sweat, tears, laughter and joys through it all, at the end of it all be worth. Because your dream will be bigger that you know it.
Q. If you could be invisible for a day, how would you like to spend it?
If I were invisible for one day, I would follow around all the world leaders to see what makes them tick and makes fear or be afraid of other countries. I would use to unite them to calm their fears and insecurities about each other and find common ground to unite them as one people on our great planet. I do believe that we can co-exist together if there is understanding and when there are no power struggles, when no one tries to be above another.
Q. Would you like to share your most special childhood memory with us?
I grew up in a loving environment. In spite of the divorce of my parents when I was 4 years old, I received as much love from my father as my mother. My parents have always been good friends with each other so far. My parents are 100% behind me in all positive that I want to achieve in my life.
Q. What is your advocacy; can you tell us more about it?
My advocacy is Stop War and Violence. I will inspire all the people in need and authorities to take concrete steps to stop the war and start war preventing activities.
Q. What is the one thing you can label as your guilty pleasure?
I love watching TV series like “The Flash, it’s about helping people, The Walking Dead about how to survive and Empire about family love” These series are very interesting and I can watch them every day. As soon as one of these series touch me, I get tears in my eyes. Especially when the storyline on those series are based on a true story.
Q. If you are granted three wishes right now, what would you ask for?
If I had three wishes. I would wish for love, peace and happiness because we all need to feel and be loved. This let us become better people. Peace is important in life. There are too many wars countries. Nationalities and religion always struggling against instead of coming together as one people on this earth. If everyone is happy, this world would be better and people would always look out for each other.
Q. Lastly, is there any message that you would like to give to your fans at Angelopedia?
We are all humans and we all make mistakes. The most important thing is to understand that there are different people with different opinions and different points of view. But that makes every single person unique. Give love to everyone, than we can work together, Let we use our potential to those who need it.
