Manushi Chhillar, Femina Miss India World 2017 has been on a roll since her crowning at Femina Miss India in July this year. While the prediction game is on regarding India winning the coveted Miss World 2017 with Manushi Chhillar representing it, the beauty is definitely slaying it in Miss World contest currently taking place in Sanya, China PR.

The young queen is 20 years old, stands tall at 175 cm while her slender body measurements are 33-27-34. This model is studying for a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine and Surgery. Coming from a family of doctors, since early age, Manushi dreamed of winning Miss India pageant and idolized Reita Faria, the first Indian and Asian winner of Miss World crown, who she found a very genuine person.  The lovely queen has maintained her fitness regime through some fun sports like paragliding, bungee jumping, snorkelling and scuba diving. A trained classical dancer in Kuchipudi form, she loves art whether through dancing or sketching and painting. A former National School of Drama student, Manushi has the natural grace and poise of a queen which she has acquired from dance and acting.

In this journey of Miss World, Manushi gives the maximum credit to her parents for being the pillar of strength and support for her. They encouraged her to follow her dreams and take bold risks in life. Manushi’s friends say, that her desire to become a beauty queen goes long back to school days, when she would participate in various competitions in school, and was known to be very intelligent, tall and beautiful. Juggling between medical classes while preparing for Femina Miss India pageant, Manushi gave her sweat and blood to the pageant. Her schedule was crazy, but her determination and hard work didn’t falter one bit. In 2014, Manushi represented her college and India at the Cultural Exchange Programme in Japan which gave her a fair share of international experience which is an added bonus for her in Miss World pageant. Being a Delhi girl, the queen grew up to be a brave, confident, bold woman in the capital city and that played an important role in gaining the confidence required for the beauty pageant.

This beauty with brains truly believes that beauty pageants are a way to reach society and educate them regarding various issues. What makes this Haryana girl unique is she genuinely works towards the improvement of the society and not just talks about it. One such example of this is her project on menstrual hygiene in India, Project Shakti, in which she has visited 20 villages, in a hope to bring about a change. "The cause is close to my heart, and in my own way, I have managed to make a difference to the lives of about 5,000 women. If an organisation like Miss World backs it, it could reach a different level altogether," she says. The gorgeous girl with a dimple in her smile also wants to contribute towards issue regarding malnutrition and water scarcity. So much so, that she even discussed regarding the same with the honourable chief minister of Haryana, Mr Manohar Lal Khattar.

After winning the title of Femina Miss India 2017, the reigning queen said, "I am elated, to say the least. Winning a beauty pageant and the Miss India title was always a dream. I was always focused on my studies and wanted to be a doctor, but like every girl, I would also dream to be at a beauty pageant at least once in life." While adding, "This is my one chance to show the world what India stands for and showcase the culture and values that I have been brought up with. I am going to make sure that the world remembers India." This shows her respect and pride she feels for her nation and we believe she will indeed bring more pride and prestige for India.
