Miss Universe Australia 2016 is moving on its way towards the finale. The stunning contestants have been shortlisted from all parts of Australia through carious regional pageants. The winner of Miss Universe Australia 2016 will represent Australia at the Miss Universe 2016 pageant to be held in Las Vegas, Nevada in December.

Miss Universe Australia pageant commenced in the year 2004. Jennifer Hawkins was the first ever winner of Miss Universe Australia pageant, and she also went on to win Miss Universe 2004 pageant.

Australia has produced two Miss Universe so far: Kerry Anne Wells in 1972 and Jennifer Hawkins in 2004. In February 2016, the new National Director of Miss Universe Australia Organization was appointed by the IMG/WME Talent and Modeling Agency, who is also the head of Miss Universe Organization presently. The current National Director of Miss Universe Australia is Troy Barbagallo.
