On 17th September 2016, the reigning Miss World Mireia Lalaguna will relinquish her duties; no, not her duties as Miss World, but her duties as Miss World Spain. Miss World Spain 2016 finale is scheduled to be held this Saturday, and a total of 25 girls are competing for the title this year.

The gala will be held at the Auditorium Theater (TAS) and will be televised live. It is the first time the capital of the Costa Daurada will be hosting the event.
The delegates have been involved in various preliminary activities. The contestants will be judged on the basis of their beauty; performance, and values. "We seek an ambassador for our country," explains Gillermo Escobar, president of Miss World Spain.
Each candidate has chosen a social project that they will support for a year in their province. The project that will appeal to the jury will be honoured with the special award. At the conclusion of the finale of Miss World Spain 2016, Mireia Lalaguna will pass on her crown to her successor. Will Spain be able to make a back to back at the Miss World pageant this year?
