The organization of Promociones Gloria hosted the 42nd edition of the Miss Bolivia pageant, corresponding to the year 2021, on 28th August 2021 at Studio 5 of Red UNO, in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. A total of 25 delegates from the nine Bolivian departments competed for th most important beauty titles in Bolivia. At the end of the event, Miss Bolivia Mundo 2020 Alondra Mercado crowned her successor, Maria Fernanda Rivero Arteaga, who will now represent the country in Miss World 2022.
Originally from Santa Cruz de la Sierra, Fernanda represented the province of Beni as Rivero wins the Miss Bolivia World title for the second consecutive year adding the eighth crown for her department at the national pageant. Fernanda is 19 years-old and is pursuing her bachelor’s degree in International Trade. In 2012, she moved from Santa Cruz de la Sierra to Beni where she finished high school. Later, she spent a year in Cochabamba, Bolivia before moving back to Santa Cruz de la Sierra to pursue a career in modelling.
Rivero is not new to the industry as she has been featured for several magazines, brands and fashion shows. In 2010, she was featured as a model in the catwalk of the brand Gallery. She began her professional modelling career in 2017. She then featured as a model in the BoMo Primavera-Verano 2018 fashion show. Later in 2020, she was featured as a model in the Magníficas Ferial fashion show.

After being crowned as Miss Bolivia World 2021, Fernanda took to her social media to share her gratitude and emotions as she wrote, “First of all, thank God and all my beautiful country for giving me this great opportunity to be able to call myself Bolivia in the Miss World contest, thank promotions for being part of this prestigious organization and last but not least, my family, friends, and my Benianos who supported me and inspired me to move forward for this great dream, this title is won by all, I love you my Bolívia.”
Fernanda Rivero will represent Bolivia at Miss World 2022 which is to be held next year. For Miss World 2021 Bolivia will be represented by Alondra Mercado Miss Bolivia Mundo 2020. Miss World 2021 will be the 70th edition of the Miss World pageant to be held on December 16, 2021 at the Coca-Cola Music Hall in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Toni-Ann Singh of Jamaica will crown her successor at the end of the event.
