At present when the world (the universe rather) is cherishing the beauty and activities and juts everything about the Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach; when the fans are going green with envy over Miss World 2015 Mireia Lalaguna’s Holiday pictures; the reigning Miss Supranational Stephania Stegman and Miss International Edymar Martinez’ latest photoshoot and updates, there is this one queen who is being neglected ever since she was crowned. We are talking about none other than the Pinay beauty and the reigning Miss Earth Angelia Gabrena Ong.

Angelia Gabrena Ong won the Miss Earth 2015 title on 5th December 2015. Winning one of the major international crowns is certainly a surreal feeling, but when this overwhelming joy is tainted by bitterness, the girl who won the world with her dedication is bound to feel hurt. Angelia Ong’s winning didn’t really go well with the masses, and people titled the pageant as rigged, and the winner a fraud.

It was disheartening to see the little fanfare homecoming for Angelia Ong as Miss Earth to her homeland, Philippines, wherein even the runner ups were warmly received with a grand homecoming. When Angelia Ong returned back to her homeland after her victory in Austria, she was not welcomed with a parade or lavish homecoming ceremony. But despite of all the negativity and bashing, Angelia moved ahead with grace taking full charge of her duties.

We are not here to comment on how biased or unbiased the decision was, nor this article is here to judge whether Angelia deserved the victory or not. We actually want to draw your focus here to the fact that Angelia Ong might not have been very active on social media, or might not have made too many public appearances, but the reigning Earth warrior has been taking her responsibilities in all seriousness and has never shied away from any of her duties.

Angelia has always been aware of the fact that her win was pretty controversial and had even attracted various allegations and back lashing from bashers. But as a congenial beauty queen, Angelia always tried to overlook these indictments and also opined that her victory was toughly earned, and she will not allow anyone to steal something that she truly deserves.

In less than two months, Angelia will be passing on her reign and her crown to her successor. You don’t get to have a private life when you are a celebrity, and beauty queens are no less than celebrities – they don’t really have a personal life as it is encroached by the media; their social life is under the public radar, and they are being judged every moment. During her reign, the Pinay beauty was bashed many times for no reason at all. But, the way Angelia continued her journey without getting affected is commendable. This is truly the mark of a beauty queen. The one who never gives up is the true beauty queen by heart.

Angelia completed 9 months of her reign yesterday, (5th September) and the beauty queen posted a heart-warming message for her fans on the official Facebook page of Miss Earth...

“Thank you so much for all the love and support. In less than 2 months, I will be turning over this title to a new queen and I'll let her know that she's on to a journey of a lifetime. I may have the shortest reign, but I hope I'll last longer in your hearts! So just like lovers do, Happy Monthsary my loves!”

You will indeed be in our hearts forever Angelia Ong... Won’t she?
