Miss Earth Philippines 2020 Talent Competition (Cultural Attire Category) winners announced

Miss Earth Philippines 2020, the first virtual edition of Miss Earth Philippines, has begun with its preliminary competition as for the first time ever, a winner will be crowned virtually to represent Philippines at Miss Earth 2020. The winner will succeed Miss Earth Philippines 2019 Janelle Lazo Tee who represented Philippines at Miss Earth 2019.

The Talent competition (Cultural Attire category) was held on 24th June 2020 where the contestants showed their beautiful and colorful attires from their own homes. The competition was conducted via the Zoom meeting platform, where delegates showcased their vibrant yet significant cultural attires from their own respective locations. They were judged by Miss Earth Indonesia 2019 Cinthia Rani, Barge Ramos; fashion designer, Eric Pineda; designer and educator, Eton Concepcion; columnist, Gerry Sunga; lifestyle designer. The event was hosted by Miss Earth 2015 Angelia Ong. Here are the winners of the category –

Gold -Isobel Teaño from Opol, Misamis Oriental

Isobel was awarded the gold or the first prize at the cultural attire talent competition. She looked beautiful inher Kuyamis-inspired attire is created by prized designer, Jie-jie Aisa. She looked confident, strong, and very determined to win the title.

Silver - Rizza Paula Infante from La Castellana, Negros Occidental

Rizza was awarded the silver or the second prize at the cultural attire talent competition. Rizza’s cultural attire was inspired by Banana Festival with a touch of famous “Bailes De Luces”. It was designed by Rhymyla Nicol-Mangilimutan & Roda Semillano. The vibrant green colour was popping out in her outfit and she was very confident while carrying it out.

Bronze - Ilyssa Marie Mendoza from Melbourne, Australia

Ilyssa was awarded the bronze or the third prize at the cultural attire talent competition. The head dress is made up of recycled materials, and cultured pearls, which is significantly abundant in the Southern Ocean of the Philippines. It is also a symbol of royalty in the Muslim Mindanao and a big part of the traditional Santa Cruzan or Flores De Mayo, Since It’s inspired by the crown of Virgin Mary. The Filipiniana Terno in Balloon Skirt created using Indigenous Materials of Abaka, Buli, Coconut Shells and Pandan Leaves, arranged in a design inspiration patterned in a Radial motion, featuring a Spanish Architectural Band Stage or Kiosko, a place where Filipino Political and Public events were held during the Spanish Colonization and Pre American Times. The attire is designed by Dee Jay Abustan from Lucban Quezon Province.
