Nabirye Josephine Mutesi crowned Miss Earth Uganda 2017

At the conclusion of the splendid finale of Miss Earth Uganda 2017 held at Nanjing Restaurant & Motel, Kololo, Nabirye Josephine Mutesi was crowned Miss Earth Uganda 2017, and will now represent her nation, Uganda, in Miss Earth 2017 slated to be held in Manila, Philippines on 4th November 2017.

Nabirye bested 13 other beauties and succeeds last year's Miss Earth “Best in National Costume" winner Priscilla Achieng, Miss Earth Uganda 2016. Just after the win, Nabriye’s friends and fans posted her picture on Facebook and congratulated her on her victory and also welcomed her to the Miss Earth family.

At the same event, Abuko Monica, Lebu Laura and Namugenyi Sharon were crowned as Miss Earth Air Uganda 2017, Miss Earth Water Uganda 2017 and Miss Earth Fire Uganda 2017 respectively. Remaining finalists were Ayikoru Joyce Asha, Modong Aluku Daphine, Naimuli Margaret, Lindrio Esther, Atim Saudah, Asingwire Doreen, Akwanya Esther, Nakabukye Julian, Tusiimire Eunice and Abo Doreen.

Before the crowning of the winners, the candidates were engaged in a two-week boot camp training session focusing on environmental issues, public speech, and on-stage presentation.
