Miss Eco International 2018 Cynthia Thomalla appointed United Nations ambassador

Miss Eco International 2018 Cynthia Thomalla is the newly appointed United Nations (UN) goodwill ambassador, to promote eco and tourism all around the globe. She was designated with the position today, by the General Secretary Mr. Romegio Maradona and Dr. Ismail Abdelghafar who is the Chairman of the Arab League in Alexandria, Egypt.

Thomalla who was crowned as the Miss Eco International 2018 during the contest held on Friday, April 27 in Egypt (late morning, April 28, Manila time) succeeded Miss Eco International 2017 Amber Bernachi of Canada who passed down the title at the end of the event finale. She is the first Filipino who has won the pageant(being held since 2015) leaving behind 50 beautiful and talented candidates during the grand pageant on April 27 at the Cairo Opera House El Zamalek in Cairo, Egypt.

The Miss Eco International pageant focuses on promoting eco-tourism and helping cancer survivors. It also aims at spreading awareness through the theme of environment and economy. Now that the beauty owns the glittering crown and the honourable position, she has all the more reasons to be excited to fulfil her responsibilities as Miss Eco International and United Nations’ Ambassador for environment and eco tourism.

As she beamingly says, “I am looking forward to go back to my home province, Southern Leyte because as I said before, I want to educate people and also the youth with sustainable tourism and encourage them to be responsible travellers. And I want to start that advocacy with programs in my hometown,” In a shining state of affairs, Miss Eco International 2018 Cynthia Thomalla was rightfully designated as United Nations Goodwill Ambassador (for IIMSAM).

Cynthia can now start with her new responsibilities and her mission of promoting tourism, taking care of the planet, helping the poor and making the world a better place to live.
