Raquel Maria Alejandra Escalante Chacon has been officially confirmed the new Miss Grand Guatemala 2018 in a recent post in the Facebook page of Miss Grand International. She will now represent Guatemala in Miss Grand International 2018 to be held on 25th October 2018 in Myanmar where Miss Grand International 2017 María José Lora will crown her successor.

Raquel Escalante succeeds Miss Grand Guatemala 2017 Karen Alejandra Castro Mayén. Karen represented Guatemala in Miss Grand International 2017 but unfortunately could not secure a position in the Top 20 in the finale.

Raquel is 21 years of age with a stellar height of 173 cm. She also holds the title of Miss Santa Rosa Latina 2017. Raquel is a model and a communicator by profession. She currently resides in Barberena, Santa Rosa, Guatemala.

Raquel completed her studies from Universidad Mariano Gálvez de Guatemala where she was a student of Administration Career of Companies. She is no stranger to the pageant world as she participated in Miss Guatemala Latina 2017. Raquel has also participated in Miss Turismo Mundo Guatemala and was the fourth runner-up in Miss City Tourism World 2017.
