Philippines’ Samantha Mae Bernardo’s eye-catching journey at Miss Grand International 2020

The eight edition of Miss Grand International, i.e. Miss Grand International 2020, was hosted on 27th March 2021 at Show DC Hall in Bangkok, Thailand. The competition saw 63 delegates from all over the world competing for the international title. At the end of the night Miss Grand International 2019 Valentina Figuera crowned USA’s Abena Appiah as her successor, Miss Grand International 2020. Joining Abena were four other beauties who were crowned as the runner-ups in her court.

Samantha Mae Bernardo, one of the leading contestants from  the beginning of the competition, was crowned as the First Runner-up Miss Grand International 2020 at the coronation night. While this year’s batch boasted of stunning and strong beautiful delegates, Samantha stood out amongst the rest and showed immense potential to be at the top since the competition commensed.

 

 

After three years of waiting, Samantha represented Philippines at Miss Grand International 2020. Everyone in her country wanted her to represent Philippines at an international platform because of her exceptional capabilities.

Samantha hails from Puerto Princesa and is currently a resident of Manila and holds a degree in International Hospitality and Management. This gleaming diva is also an entrepreneur at Frontrow International which is a leading business company in the Philippines. Apart from her professional work, Samantha is also involved in philanthropy as she is an active volunteer at Philippine Movement Against Malaria organisation through which she tries to create awareness regarding the viral disease and its prevention in the Filipino community.

 

 

Samantha’s performance throughout the competition have been some of the top favourites. Her Swimsuit performance was a charmer, a swirl there and all hearts were sold to Samantha. This diva beautifully flaunted her perfect hourglass figure in a light blue bikini. Her wavy hair stunningly defined her gorgeous face. Samantha’s confidence and positivity was reflective in her performance. Her National Costume, “Agila”, also caught eyes as it was inspired by their National Bird- the Great Philippine Eagle, the rarest and most powerful birds in the world. The Gold in the costume represented the magnificent journey of Samantha Bernardo, the Filipino Queen and to pay homage to the MGI Golden Crown.

Samantha’s stunning performances with a warm smile and shining persnality during the preliminary rounds reserved her position in the Top-5. During the final question round, her fresh and remarkable  answers resulted in being crowned as the First Runner-up of Miss Grand International 2020. She says, “Joining Miss Grand International is not easy, but definitely all worth remembering, conquering and fulfilling experience.”  The Filipino Queen did proud to her community and country.
