Miss Indonesia 2020, the 16th edition of Miss Indonesia, held its coronation night yesterday at the Studio RCTI + MNC Studios, Kebon Jeruk, Jakarta where Pricilia Carla Yules of Sulawesi Selatan was crowned the new queen. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Indonesia 2019 Princess Megonondo and will now represent her country in Miss World 2020.
Before her crowning, the Top 5 beauties had to go through a grueling question and answer round that tested their prudence and confidence. They were all asked the same question - “Knowledge will give you power, but character respect, can you elaborate this sentence?”; and the beauties kept their various opinions with utmost fluency and grace.
Salma Effendi from Sumatera Utara
Salma, gave her answer with great eloquence as she spoke freely and fluently. She gave her opinion by saying, “I think that we don’t hard to love and a good character will not make the person have the capacity to serve humanity that person will use their knowledge and power for a personal purpose become greedy. Therefore, what matters is not only your personal achievement but how you leave your legacy in this world.”
Christella Fenisianti from Bangka Belitung
Christella spoke splendidly as it showed about her fluency in English language and not only that, but her thinking which took her here in the top after she gave her best answer. She elaborated the sentence and talked about knowledge being a power because she thinks that we can understand a lot of things through information but in order to earn respect, we need to have a good character. She further says, “It’s about being humble and staying true to ourselves. A good character is usually the role model of their community, therefore, half the power to bring a social change. So, sharpen your mind, sharpen your character to bring about social change to Indonesia.”
Carla Yules from Sulawesi Selatan
The winning queen gave her answer with fluency and grace as she spoke about the truth of a goog heart. She said that, “If you have knowledge, you can do many things in life. Knowledge makes you powerful but having a good heart is a foundation that you will get in life and therefore, if you have a good heart, that will be the most powerful human being that you could achieve in life.” The beautiful did remarkably well in the competition and ended up winning.
Nadia Riwu Kaho from NTT
Nadia Riwu spoke fluently in her native language as she talked about knowledge and character. She gave her answer with prudence as she spoke with eloquence and confidence. She elaborated it so well and gave her strong opinion.
Larissa Amelinda from Jambi
Larissa spoke, “There are two things that I learn from this sentence, first, to be up here, you can use your intelligence but in order to stay up here, you need something more than that. It takes a good character for people to respect you and second, in order to be respected, it’s not anymore about how smart you are but about how you treat other people and how you can be a blessing to the people that puts in your life.”
