Miss Universe New Zealand 2019 Diamond Langi to star in a Polish-American Feature Film

Diamond is all set to add another accomplishment in her cap with starring in a Polish-American feature film titled, ‘Sosefina’.  The film is written by Manu Tanielu and Namualii Tofa and directed by Hinano Tanielu. The story of the film is based on the real-life events. As Manu recalls, “I was 16 years old… Back in the days it was rare to see a Polynesian female on stage. We had that encounter that night and she came down and talked to us about her struggles and why she had to go that route. So, the whole story is about that situation, because it had a great message for our people – to share awareness about the dark world and make sure you make the right decisions in life.”

Billed as “a drama, romance, Polynesian American movie”, Sosefina tells the story of two Pacific females who through hardship and suffering, must decide between a straightforward path or the easy money of the adult entertainment world. Diamond Langi plays the main character ‘Sosefina’ whose daily-life struggles and experiences makes up the plot of the film. Facing financial difficulties, the characters must make the ultimate decision to choose whether to stay on the straight and narrow or enter the seedy world they are not ready for.

The fundamental theme of Sosefina has always been to tell the authentic story of a marginalized and overlooked Polynesian community. The movie is set to release this summer and the production house just dropped the trailer. The movie is released in USA on 31st January 2020 and received a great response. The diva looks very promising onscreen and has a very strong screen presence. She looks flawless on screen and is appreciated for her portrayal of the character. She has been able to connect with the audience very well and we’re hoping that when movie is out in other parts of the world, she will make a strong mark on the society and be able to make the change in the world she and the entire team of ‘Sosefina’ aimed for.

Diamond is also is an Ambassador and the face for several brands, profit and nonprofit organizations, and international film festivals. Diamond’s passion is not only in the fields of performing arts but also includes charity work and giving back, where she has had the opportunity to be involved in many great causes around the world. Diamond is passionate and committed to educating and bringing more awareness to causes that she is devoted to, which is, Depression and suicide, The Environment, Human trafficking, Animal cruelty, and domestic violence and abuse.

Wishing the entire team best of luck for the movie.
