Miss Indonesia organization is all set to host the 2022 edition of the national pageant as the final will be held on Thursday, 15th September 2022 in Jakarta. The winner will represent Indonesia at Miss World 2022.
A total of 37 finalists representing the provinces of Indonesia are competing for the crown. An official press conference took place on 9th September 2022 at MNC Studios to formally introduce the finalists to the media.
Due to the expansion of Papua Province, three new provinces are being represented this year - the Papua Selatan (South Papua), Papua Tengah (Central Papua), and Papua Pegunungan (Highland Papua).

This year's pageant will be the 17th edition of Miss Indonesia. No competition was held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Pricilia Carla Yules, who won the title in 2020, represented at Miss World 2021 and placed in the Top 6. She also bagged the Miss World Asia title in Puerto Rico.
