Miss Indonesia 2018 kick starts with its official press conference!

The 14th edition of Miss Indonesia 2018 has officially begun with press conference organized by Miss Indonesia organization on 12th February in Jakarta. The 34 finalists of the competition were unveiled to the media and the official date of the competition which is from 10th-22nd February 2018 was announced with the coronation scheduled for 22nd February 2018 night at MNC studious, Jakarta.

The reigning Miss Indonesia 2018 Achintya Holte Nilsen was in attendance along with Mrs. Liliana Tanoesoedibjo, Chairwoman of Miss Indonesia Foundation who opened the press conference. The event also saw the turnout of all the judges of the competition.

The judges of the coronation night will be –

Liliana Tanaja Tanoesoedibjo - Chairman of the jury, Commissioner of MNC Group, Founder and CEO of Miss Indonesia Organization.

Wulan Tilaar Widarto – Vice chairwoman of Martha Tilaar Group.

Peter F. Saerang - Hairdresser and professional hair stylist

Madam Noor Sabah Nael Traavik - Wife of the Norwegian Ambassador of Indonesia, social activist.

Natasha Mannuela - Miss Indonesia 2016, 2nd runner-up at Miss World 2016, Miss World Asia 2016

Maria Harfanti - Miss Indonesia 2015, 2nd runner-up at Miss World 2015, Miss World Asia 2015

This year’s competition is extra special because the reigning Miss World 2017 Manushi Chhillar will also be attending the coronation ceremony on 22nd February 2018. She will be accompanied by Miss World 2016 Stephanie Del Valle Díaz from Puerto Rico and 6 Miss World Continental Queens 2017, Miss World Americas 2017 Andrea Meza from Mexico, Miss World Africa 2017 Magline Jeruto from Kenya, Miss World Asia 2017 from Korea Haeun Kim, Miss World Oceania Annie Evans from New Zealand, Miss World Caribbean 2017 Solange Sinclair from Jamaica, and Miss World Europe 2017 Stephanie Hill from UK.

The girls will be spending a training period till 22nd February 2018 during which they will undergo fast track round that will determine additional points for them for the final round of Miss Indonesia 2018.

There are six fast tracks that must be passed by Miss Indonesia 2018 finalists. Starting from ‘Beauty With A Purpose’ (BWAP), Nature and Beauty Fashion, Sport Competition, Talent Show, Catwalk, and Social Media.

However, of the six fast-tracks, the most focused is BWAP. "Because Miss Indonesia mission is that the winner should be a woman who is not only beautiful, but also has a purpose in life with ‘Beauty With A Purpose,’" said Chairwoman of Miss Indonesia Organization Liliana Tanoesoedibjo in Miss Indonesia 2018 press conference.
