Romy Simpkins is appointed as Miss Intercontinental United Kingdom 2020/2021 to represent her country at the upcoming Miss Intercontinental 2021. The coronation ceremony of the 49th Miss Intercontinental was shifted to late spring 2021 due to the pandemic situation around the world where Miss Intercontinental 2019 Fanni Miko of Hungary will crown her successor at the end of the event.
The Miss Intercontinental UK organization announced Romy’s appointment and congratulated her via social media as they wrote, “We are excited to have you part of the Miss Intercontinental UK Organization & are ready to start this next chapter with you! Huge congratulations you deserve this.”
Romy also took to her social media to share the news as she said, “The UK is coming for you Miss Intercontinental. Thank you everyone again for your endless support. I am so blessed to be a part of the pageant community, we are like one big family (across the world) and I love you all dearly”
The gorgeous diva is 27 years of age and stands 170 cm tall. She is a Trainee Counsellor, Swimwear Designer, Mental Health Ambassador and an animal lover.
The gorgeous beauty is not only attractive due to her physical attributes but also because she has a golden heart. Expressing her emotions, she added, “Leading up to the international final, I will continue to use my title as Miss Intercontinental UK 2020/21 to raise more awareness of domestic abuse and the impact it has on survivors mental health, through my campaign The Red Flags.”
Romy is not new to the world of pageantry as she has already won the titles of Miss International UK 2016 & Miss Supranational England 2018. Talking about participation in pageants she shares, “It’s not about the crown or the sash but the opportunity to represent women in my country and around the world as an individual who believes in herself. I want to be the voice for others who may not feel they can have one, as I want them to know that they are the one in control of their life and they can have the best life ever by simply focusing on their dreams and making them a reality.”
England’s last and only win at the Miss Intercontinental was back in the year 1977. The country hasn’t won the title ever since but with Romy’s experience and personality UK can have a great chance at bringing home the crown after more than four decades.
