Bridget Jacobs crowned as Miss Minnesota USA 2016

Bridget Jacobs was crowned Miss Minnesota USA 2016 by outgoing titleholder Jessica Scheu on November 29, 2015. Jacobs will now compete at the Miss USA 2016 pageant. The winner of Miss USA will represent USA at the Miss Universe 2016. She defeated 30 other contestants to clinch the title of Miss Minnesota USA 2016. At the same event, Emily Fredericks was titled first runner-up, Jennifer Monson was adjudged second runner-up and Sophia Primozich was crowned as Miss Teen Minnesota USA 2016.

20 years old Bridget is currently studying business at the Carlson School of Management. Her plan is to major in marketing. Bridget has had many international experiences, having visited Jamaica in 2014 as part of a 10-day service trip. She had also travelled to China with her father. While abroad, they visited Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong.

In 1976, Barbara Elaine Peterson was the first Miss Minnesota USA to be crowned Miss USA, and was also the first Miss USA to not place in the Miss Universe pageant. Deborah Cossette was titled second runner-up at Miss USA 1977, Van Buren made it to the third runner-up slot at Miss USA 2002 and Kari Lee Johnson was fourth runner-up in 1985 edition of Miss USA.

Bridget is not new to the world of pageantry, as the beauty competed in the 2015 edition of Miss Minnesota USA where she was crowned as second runner-up. At the same event, the following made it to the list of semi- finalists –
