Leonardo DiCaprio spoke as the lead guest at the Goed Geld Gala of the National Postcode Lottery, on behalf of the Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation (LDF), which he founded in 1998.

In his speech he expressed his concern about the irreversible effects that greed and indifference have on our planet. This realization led to the foundation of his foundation, with which he wants to work on a solution to turn the tide and to get as many people as possible in motion.

DiCaprio: " If we have more innovators like the Postcode Lottery, who provide a lot of money with which we can make a real, tangible difference, then we have a chance that we can turn the tide and protect this beautiful planet. "

Nicky Opheij’s advocated charity, Dance4life started off as a movement intended to remind world leaders of their commitments to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) to combat AIDS. Right from the start, dance4life’s universal language of dance and the positive energy of music, enabled a different kind of connection: young people were the driving force and the solution.

Like all good ideas it caught on fast. Soon dance4life set up in three countries and since then has grown into an international organization, expanding to over 20 countries and active across 5 continents. Over time dance4life has broadened its horizons from HIV/AIDS to Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights. They provide a real and effective solution to young people’s sexual health issues.
