Thatiana has formidable experience in the world of pageantry. She won the title of Miss New York Teen USA 2010 at the age of 16, and with her crowning as Miss New York USA 2015 she became the second Miss New York Teen USA to also claim the Miss New York USA title.
In 2013, she won the title of Miss Dominican Republic US, and went on to compete at Miss Dominican Republic Universe 2014 representing Dominican community of the United States. At the finals of the pageant held on August 17' 2014, she placed Top 10 and also won the award for Best Smile.

Thatiana is extremely passionate about the Miss Universe Organization because she feels it celebrates all types of beauty and gives women from countries around the world the opportunity to join together and celebrate their beauty and diversity.

Thatiana Diaz was born and raised in Queens, New York. She was born to Dominican parents, and that gives her firsthand experience of multiculturalism. The woman she admires most is her mother, whom she believes is the true representation of the American Dream. Her mother started off as a receptionist at a job and with determination and the desire to learn more, she became an executive on Wall Street. Thatiana describes herself as ambitious, funny, and simple, eagerly desirous of achieving her dreams be it becoming the next Miss Universe or becoming an editor.
Outside of pageantry, Thatiana has focused on education and humanitarian service. Thatiana graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pace University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies. She was a features editor for the Pace Press and has interned with Vogue, Sony, Latina Magazine, Seventeen and Wilhelmina. Working closely with organizations such as The Dream Project and Project Sunshine, she has had the opportunity to manage a collection of school supplies with The Dream Project and personally deliver them to students at a school in the Dominican Republic. During her visit, she was able to speak to the students about the importance of education.
Thatiana has served as a contributor to several national and international publications and has been recognized for her future series of self-help books for first-generation American university students. She strongly believes in equal education opportunities for all children. She currently is working on her blog: “Beau-volution – A dynamic perspective on beauty blogging.” She focuses on showing her subscribers how to shine in their own skin and how to find beauty techniques to accentuate their natural hair and skin types.
Thatiana is an animal lover, enjoys writing in her journal (she never misses a day), baking for her family and friends, watching the Food Network and running. As an avid traveler, Thatiana loves experiencing the various cultures and diversity that the world has to offer.
All the best Thatiana for Miss USA 2015, a victory which will bring this determined beauty a step closer to realizing her dream of becoming Miss Universe!
