The coronation night of Miss Nicaragua 2023 was held on Saturday, 5th August 2023 at Centro de Convenciones del Hotel Crowne Plaza in Managua where Sheynnis Palacios was crowned Miss Universe Nicaragua 2023 as she became the official representative of Nicaragua at Miss Universe 2023.

Sheynnis Palacios is 23 years of age and a communications graduate and television host. She represented Diriamba at the national contest and bested nine other competitors to win the crown. In 2022, she graduated from the Universidad Centroamericana in Managua with a bachelor’s degree in mass communication.

Along with winning the national crown, Palacios also bagged several awards including Miss Solenti, Miss Beauty Shipping, Miss Agua Cielo, Miss Flawless Beauty, Miss Styling Baby Liss Pro, and Mujer Abundante at the coronation night.

Born in Managua, Palacios studied at the Universidad Centroamericana where she pursued a degree in mass communication. Along with that, she also played varsity volleyball for the university. Sheynnis has quite a list of accomplishments under her belt.

Not new to the pageant world, Palacios started into the world of pageantry in 2016 when she won Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016. As Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016, Palacios represented her country in Miss Teen Universe 2017, in Managua where she placed in Top 10.

In 2020, Palacios won the Miss World Nicaragua 2020 crown as she won the right to represent Nicaragua at Miss World 2020 and placed in the Top 40. She was supposed to represent Nicaragua at Reinado Internacional del Café 2022 in Colombia but she had to withdraw from the competition after testing positive for covid-19.

Miss Universe 2023, the 72nd edition of Miss Universe, is scheduled to be held in San Salvador, El Salvador on 18th November 2023 where Miss Universe 2022 R'Bonney Gabriel of the United States will crown her successor at the end of the event finale.
