At the denouement of Miss North Carolina USA 2018 finale held at High Point Theatre, North Carolina, Caelynn Miller-Keyes was crowned Miss North Carolina USA 2018. She will now go on to represent her state, North Carolina, in Miss USA 2018 to be held next year. Miss North Carolina USA 2017 Katie Coble passed on the crown to her successor.
Caelynn is 22 years of age and hails from Asheville. She has completed her graduation in broadcast journalism from Virginia Commonwealth University and is now working at Windy Gap, a Young Life camp in Weaverville, where she mentors and helps young girls. Apart from modelling, Caelynn is an active member of various NGOs where she helps unfortunate children and their parents to deal with the situation.
With tears in her eyes and crown on her head, Caelynn shared her dream, “Being Miss North Carolina USA, My goal is to continue improving Title IX policies for sexual assault survivors and I want to empower women to speak up, should they be victimized, and to learn the power of forgiveness. I am now excited to compete in the Miss USA competition this summer and spread my message to a broader audience.”
At the same event, Kaaviya Sambasivam was crowned as Miss North Carolina Teen USA 2018 and she will now go on to represent her state in Miss Teen USA 2018.
